Pocketnow Weekly 066: MKBHD joins us to talk Nexus 5, Galaxy Gear, & more!
There comes a time when you just gotta do what the readers want. Particularly when their demands are awesome.
You tweeted, you pleaded, you emailed, you told us in person at trade shows and during mildly creepy public run-ins: "have Marques Brownlee on the Weekly!" you demanded. And after weeks of dancing around schedules, overseas trips, and major product releases, we've finally managed to make it happen. For the first time in recorded history, MKBHD and Pocketnow have collaborated to bring you two full hours of audio-podcast goodness.
That sounds a lot more grandiose than three guys sitting in three separate cities talking about technology, but trust us: it's a lot of fun. We'll be covering more of Marques's personal story in next week's interview on the Pocketnow VIP, but for now, there's a lot of tech news to cover. From Nexus 5 to One max to Galaxy Note 3 to that weird little box Taylor Martin plugged into his car, there's a lot to sink our teeth into this week.
All that, plus thoughts on whether the Samsung's new Galaxy Gear smartwatch is or isn't a total disaster, awaits you in the long span ahead on episode 066 of the Pocketnow Weekly podcast. So wake up your wrist screen, but don't bother firing up S Voice; three of tech's most talkative dudes are here, and they've got plenty to say without her help. Send feedback, questions, and requests to podcast [AT] pocketnow [DOT] com. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Google Plus to stay apprised of the latest episodes. Tell your friends about the show so we don't have to do a telethon to stay on the air. Join our forums to offer topic suggestions and more. And thanks for listening!Pocketnow Weekly Episode 066
Google Nexus 5: What to Expect! (MKBHD)
Galaxy Note 3 Review! (MKBHD)
Listener Mail (01:19:28)
Laurence R. asks how well the Moto X is likely to age over time; Owen Lyttle wonders how well HTC's new microphones are performing; Conal Nealis wants to know what the most memorable device we've ever reviewed is; Joseph Sheidler asks for Pocketnow and MKBHD's insights on working together vs working in a group; and Nakul Gupta wants to know when to expect better battery performance from smartphones.
Oh, and Viktor Biboski asks what kind of car Marques drives, which prompts Taylor to wax poetic about his own four-wheeled wonder until the show finally, mercifully runs out of steam.
Thanks for listening!
Tune in next week for more!
