In 1957, the youngest serial killer in Canada was caught after having killed three children in four months. What many don't know about Peter Woodcock's story is that a 14 year old had been wrongfully convicted for one of those murders after giving a false confession. Nearly 22 years later, Rodney's family is still waiting for justice and his mother is sharing his full story for the first time on Impact Statement.Promo for Canadian True Crime, a podcast that tells the stories of crime in Canada with sensitivity and compelling narration.

The Death of Samantha Sutton

Sat Jul 28 2018 (25:40)

Looking at a case file doesn’t tell the whole story. It doesn’t tell the story of homemade soup and family outings and a young woman who just wanted to come home and just wanted to be clean. And it doesn’t tell of the questions Samantha Sutton’s family are left with in the wake of her death at 22. For those parts of the story, the parts of the story that tell us who Samantha was and the impact her loss had on her family, I spoke with her mother Dell.

But for Cheri's daughter Debbi, those 37 years took her down an unpredictable path that eventually led to recovery and hope. patreon.com/impactstatementMusic by Blue Dot Sessions

No one disputed that Christopher Deboe shot and killed Sherrill Collins. But Deboe claimed self defense, and it was up to a jury to decide. In November of 2011, a mother in Nova Scotia comes home to work to find her daughter on the kitchen floor, rocking and sobbing. Leah stood in the kitchen doorway listening to her teenage daughter Rehtaeh disclose the events of a sexual assault, the events as she could remember them. Rehtaeh could vaguely remember the digital shutter click of a cell phone at some point that night, but she didn’t find out until earlier that day, at school, that a photo was taken by one of the boys and it was being ...
