On this week's edition of Lacrosse Classified, we begin our 2020 NLL Season team previews by speaking with the two teams in last year's final. Steve Dietrich and Curt Malawsky join us on the show.

 

First up is the general manager of the Buffalo Bandits, Steve Dietrich. Then, we speak with the head coach of the Calgary Roughnecks, Curt Malawsky. Both gentlemen speak candidly about the off-season roster moves they made and the draft picks they selected at last month's draft. We also hear from both as to who will be out for the year with injuries, who will be back sooner than expected and how the salary cap played a role in the recent expansion draft.

Chris Corbeil, Glenn Clark: Lacrosse Classified, Ep. 47

Season 1, Ep. 47

On this week’s Lacrosse Classified, Jake and Evan wrap up what was a busy 10 days at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships and a Stampede Tack #WhoYaGott champion is crowned. Chris Corbeil and Glenn Clark join us on the show.


First up this week is the captain of Team Canada and the Saskatchewan Rush, Chris Corbeil. Chris won his third world indoor title this past week and we reflect on the experience, and evaluate Kyle Rubisch’s scoring technique.


Secondly, we speak with the head coach of Team Canada and the New England Black Wolves, Glenn Clark. We speak about how a team like Canada’s is formed, what it took to win another title and preview the upcoming season for the Black Wolves.


We also have news and notes and how you the listener can contribute to deciding Jake Elliott’s punishment for losing #WhoYaGott.

Zach Currier, Thomas Hogarth: Lacrosse Classified, Ep. 45

It seemed unfathomable years ago when John Grant Jr. won the Champions Cup, Mann Cup and World Indoor Lacrosse Championship title all in the same year in 2007. Zach Currier and Thomas Hoggarth join us on the show.


This week, we speak with Pure Vita Labs sponsored athlete Zach Currier on the Lacrosse Classified podcast who has already won the NLL and Mann Cups this year, and has the chance to win the WILC title with Team Canada and the MLL Cup with the Denver Outlaws later this month to beat Junior.


We also speak with Thomas Hoggarth, another member of the Mann Cup champion Peterborough Lakers who will be suiting up for the Iroquois Nationals this week. We discuss the whirlwind season it has been for him and what is being done to keep the Mann Cup safe.

On this week's edition of Lacrosse Classified, a fantastic start to the Mann Cup and the performance of Pete Dubenski has everyone talking. Teddy Jenner and Steve Priolo join us.

 

First up this week is the voice of the Colorado Mammoth, Victoria Shamrocks, Mann Cup, the upcoming NLL Draft and whatever else he can fit into his schedule, Edward "Teddy" Jenner. We talk about the Mann Cup so far and who is going No. 1 in next week's NLL Draft.


We then speak with the captain of the Buffalo Bandits, who is also a member of the Vjctoria Shamrocks and Team Canada, Steve Priolo. We talk about the Shamrocks, Team Canada and what life is like living in a van all summer.


We wrap things up with another round of Stampede Tack's #WhoYaGott, and where the next expansion team coming from? Time in to find out.

Jessica Berman, Mark Matthews: Lacrosse Classified, Ep. 43

Season 1, Ep. 43

On this week's edition of Lacrosse Classified, Jessica Berman, Deputy Commissioner and Executive Vice President of Business Affairs for the NLL joins us on the show. Plus, our Stampede Tack Weekly Report Cards give a massive A to the first responders at the President's Cup for their swift action when Angus Goodleaf collapsed suddenly. Mark Matthews also joins us.

 

Our first guest this week is the newly-appointed Deputy Commissioner and Executive Vice President of Business Affairs, Jessica Berman. While becoming the first ever female deputy commissioner in any North American professional sport, its Jessica's resume and experience that are exemplary. For the past 13 seasons, she has been the Vice President of Community Development, Culture and Growth for the NHL, which is a perfect fit for a growing league like the NLL. We speak to Jessica about what her role all entails, what excites her about the NLL and what needs to be done to help grow the game in markets where the NLL has struggled.


Our second guest was the recent playoff MVP of Major Series Lacrosse, Mark Matthews from the Peterborough Lakers, which is headed to the Mann Cup which starts this Friday. As Jake likes to call him, "The Mailman", Matthews was also the 2018 NLL MVP and has been the runner up many times with the Saskatchewan Rush. Matthews has also had a stellar season in the MLL with the Atlanta Blaze. We discuss changes to the lineup in Saskatchewan, what it is going to take for Peterborough to win the Mann Cup, and whether the cup is safe in Peterborough's hands.


As always we end things with Stampede Tack's #WhoYaGott, and we tackle PLL games on this week's schedule to get our quota in, we hand out another hat and news and notes, including one big name that didn't renounce his NCAA eligibility yet to enter the upcoming NLL Draft.

Andy Towers, Jonathan Donville: Lacrosse Classified, Ep. 42

Season 1, Ep. 42

On this week's Lacrosse Classified, we ask you to settle down and take your seats. Andy Towers, Jonathan Donville and Pat Gregoire join us on the show.


First up, we speak get a big motivational speech from Andy Towers, head coach of Chaos Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League. Chaos has become the favorite of most box lacrosse fans due to the large number of box players on the team. We discuss a number of key contributors on Chaos and the successes of the PLL this year.


Second up is Jonathan Donville who was named MVP at the recent Minto Cup, where he and his Orangeville Northmen on the title in a dominating performance. Donville also plays for Cornell University.


We then check in with our eastern correspondent, Smokin' Pat Gregoire and discuss the Northmen's dominant performance, the MSL finals between the Peterborough Lakers and Six Nations Chiefs, and the President's Cup.


We also hand out our Stampede Tack Weekly Report Card, which includes an unusual decision by the Vancouver Warriors. We then play another round of Stampede Tack's #WhoYaGott as Evan maintains his lead over Jake.
