Dan Richardson, Peter Schmitz, Dave Succamore: Lacrosse Classified, Ep. 54

Season 2, Ep. 2

On this week's edition of Lacrosse Classified, we wrap up our Stampede Tack team previews with the Vancouver Warriors and speak with the general manager of the team, Dan Richardson. Richardson, who was the long time general manager of the New Westminster Salmonbellies of the Western Lacrosse Association is working to rebuild a team that lacked depth and draft picks when he arrived. We speak to him about the rebuilding efforts, the battle for the starting goaltending spot on the team, the move to Friday home games in Vancouver and his recent signing of Paul Bissonette to a try-out contract.

Then we come full circle on Lacrosse Classified once again by having two guests on Season 2, Ep. 2 that we had on Season 1, Ep. 1, Peter Schmitz and Dave Succamore from the Professional Lacrosse Players Association. When we last had these two gentlemen on the program, there was significant doubt as to whether there would be a 2018-19 NLL season and we spoke with them for almost 50 minutes about what the issues with the CBA were. We are once again talking CBA with them as we are just 11 months away from the timeline for either the PLPA or the NLL giving notice that they want to exit from the current CBA to take effect in October/November 2021. They share some news on that front, as well as talk about the future growth of the game, what it will take to make players full time athletes, progress on workers compensation for players in Canada and improvements needed for the safety of the game.

We also introduce a new segment, Under Review, where we answer a listener's question, and this week we are asked, how many teams should the NLL cap the expansion movement at for now. Also, Jake loses another bet that will see him punished at a Rush game, the CLA has a new president and other news and notes.

Dan Carey, Patrick Merrill: Lacrosse Classified, Ep. 52

Season 1, Ep. 52

On this week's edition of Lacrosse Classified, we continue our Stampede Tack season previews and welcome aboard a new sponsor, the Vancouver Warriors. Dan Carey and Patrick Merrill join us on the show.

First up we speak with Dan Carey, general manager of the Rochester Knighthawks. Last time we spoke with Dan was just hours after the expansion draft, and this time we take a look at his new team complete with draft picks and free agents.

Then, we speak with an expansion team from last year, the San Diego Seals, and their general manager and head coach, Patrick Merrill. The Seals, who shocked everyone by finishing in second place in the west last year, made a number of personnel changes up front and we find out from Patrick when Austin Staats will return to the lineup.

Also, the fans send in the question, "To which two cities would Jake and Evan like to see the NLL expand and which two cities would they like to see come back to the league?"

As always, a big thank you to the partners of Lacrosse Classified: Pure Vita Labs, the Vancouver Warriors, Associated Labels and Packaging and Stampede Tack.

Regy Thorpe, Paul Day: Lacrosse Classified, Ep. 51

Season 1, Ep. 51

On this week's edition of Lacrosse Classified, we continue our Stampede Tack team previews with two division rivals in the New York Riptide and Philadelphia Wings, one of which is a new expansion team and one that is in its second season as we talk with Regy Thorpe and Paul Day.

We speak with the head coaches and general managers of both teams, Regy Thorpe from the New York Riptide and Paul Day from the Philadelphia Wings. How are the people of Long Island taking to the return of professional lacrosse? What do the Wings need to do to improve their 4th quarter performances this year? And how close are the Wings to being a playoff team this year? It might be closer than you think.

Also in News and Notes, Jake and Evan reflect on what was the first year of Lacrosse Classified and how far the program has come over that time.
