Oat Flour in Gluten Free Products

Oat flour seems to be showing up in more gluten free products then ever. But even if a package is labeled gluten free, we have to dig further to determine the source of the oats used in the flour.


Jules Shepard (aka GF Jules) has the perfect example. Kellogg's has come out with an Eggo Waffle labeled Gluten Free on the box. However, the oats in the ingredient label don't mention gluten free oats. Even if they did, we have to investigate further to determine if the oats are from a Purity Protocol to truly be deemed safe.
